Recently I have revisited my old, huge and dust-covered photo archives. Here is part one of Landscape & Nature, pictures from years 2002-2004, selected the best of old good negative and slide films.

Kutno-Berlin-Kutno - Bahn photography, Canon AF35ML
Recently enchanted by street/situation photography art from others I took my Canon AF35ML for a tour to Berlin. Yeah, this was actually a business trip. Unfortunately having no much time to spend after business hours and usually late at night if at all - I had to limit shooting time and place. By a must it became a U-Bahn/S-Bahn photo with some street night photo.
And how about the camera performance? ISO 400 inside + F1.9 lens - sounded promising to me. However as I stated recently - the camera is not well suited for street/candid photo. Early CAFS Canon AF misses in night conditions almost 50% of shots. Winder is so noisy that it would wake up the dead. But this is not the case as outside it is being jammed by ambient street noise. The last con is that is hangs vertical on your neck and must be almost always reposition it horizontally for the shot. I plan adding another strap mount on the left of the camera body to make the camera hang horizontal.

Canon AF35ML. The weird lovely thing.
I found it on internet auction while browsing compact cameras category. Slightly recently bored of HDVDSLR and tired of manual focusing with rangefinder I hit "Buy now". Got it for less than $20.
Camera is perfectly described by Ken Rockwell.
Some facts: one of the first autofocus compact cameras, winder, great 40mm/f1.9 lens. Not very lightweight, however almost pocketable. Could be handy in street photography but it's not due to noisy winder and "slow shutter" (<1/30 sec.) warning beep. And, while hanging on the neck strap it is positioned vertically which forces you to rotate it to frame correctly almost each time. However I like it very much. It releases me from all that DSLR buttonology and lets me think about a shot, not technology. Brings back simplicity. Hopefully will be good everyday companion. First roll of Kodak BW400CN is out, developed and scanned, and looks great to me.
